The September 2026 issue of the APFG Newsletter, published by the Asia-Pacific Federation on Giftedness, is a special issue dedicated to the 19th Asia-Pacific Conference on Giftedness (APCG 2026).

This issue features reports and reflections from educators, researchers, practitioners, and students from across the Asia-Pacific region. Major themes include the future of gifted education, talent identification and development, inclusive education, twice-exceptionality, creativity, artificial intelligence, educational innovation, socio-emotional well-being, and international collaboration.

The newsletter also introduces the new APFG Executive Committee for 2026–2028, the APFG Global Portal, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and the APFG Research Mentoring Program. It includes a tribute to Dr. Finarya Legoh, conference reports from APCG 2026, reflections from the GenAI Youth Summit, and articles contributed by authors and young participants from multiple countries and regions.

The special issue also presents discussions on emerging directions in gifted education, including the use of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, support for twice-exceptional learners, talent development in diverse and crisis-affected communities, and the development of international frameworks such as the Global Giftedness Index.

Through its diverse contributions, the issue reflects APFG’s continuing commitment to connecting researchers, educators, students, families, and policymakers, while strengthening international dialogue and collaboration in gifted education and talent development throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
